A browser gives an assistant access to work beyond a chat window, but it does not make every website task a good automation candidate. The best first tasks have a clear target, an observable result, and a boundary before any external commitment.
Pick a task you can inspect
Comparing public service descriptions, collecting opening hours from specified sources, or preparing a research table can be useful starting points. “Manage this account” is much less specific. It leaves the assistant to infer which actions are permitted and when the work is complete.
For an illustrative supplier comparison, provide the exact websites and the fields you need. Ask for links and access dates. A missing field should remain unknown; the assistant should not fill it from a similarly named company.
Separate reading from changing
Reading a page, preparing a form, submitting it, and paying are different actions. Decide the stopping point in advance. A good first workflow can produce a completed draft for you to inspect without submitting anything.
If an account is required, use the access method available in your environment and the minimum appropriate scope. Do not place passwords in a general task prompt. Session expiry, additional verification, and changed page layouts need a defined pause or handoff.
Verify the result outside the conversation
A claimed submission should correspond to a real confirmation or record. A failed click should not be reported as completed work. For read-only tasks, inspect a sample of source pages against the table.
Track where the assistant needed help. Repeated failures at the same step may indicate an unsuitable access path rather than a prompt problem. A stable API or an export may be better for a recurring business process.
