A successful AI demo proves that a workflow can produce a good result under the demonstrated conditions. It does not prove that the service will recover from an outage, respect every user's access, or remain correct after a policy changes. Production planning begins by making those gaps explicit.

Define the service people will depend on

Name the users, operating hours, expected workload, and responsible owner. Decide what happens when the assistant is unavailable. A manual queue, a callback request, or a read-only fallback may be appropriate; pretending a failed operation completed is not.

An illustrative order-support pilot may correctly answer sample questions. Production additionally needs identity checks, current order data, transfer rules, and clear handling when the order system cannot respond.

Test the recovery path

Interrupt the connection after submitting a write. Restart the worker during a pending task. Replace a document while a request is in progress. These cases reveal whether the workflow loses work, duplicates effects, or reports an uncertain result honestly.

Keep enough operational evidence to diagnose a problem without collecting unnecessary private content. Agree on who can inspect records, how long they remain, and how a customer correction is handled.

Give changes an owner

Business rules and external systems change. Someone must maintain source documents, integration credentials, and acceptance cases. Changes should be checked against the same kinds of examples that justified the original release.

A new prompt is still a behavioral change. Review it when it affects permissions, commitments, or which source the assistant treats as authoritative. The deployment process should preserve a known working selection and a way to recover it.

Recheck economics with real usage

Include human review, failed attempts, model consumption, telephony where relevant, and maintenance. A pilot may create value through shorter waiting time rather than fewer staff hours. Measure the outcome the business actually wants.
